1. Indian Institute of Science Bangalore
It was ranked 147th in the year of 2015/2016 in the QS World University Ranking. It was founded with just two departments and 21 students in 1909, but now has 39 departments and more than 3,500 students. It was a 33rd university in Asia in 2016 and it was best for materials science (top 50) and for chemistry, electrical engineering and chemical engineering (top 100).
2. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB)
IITB is founded in 1958 and is the13th university according to BRICS ranking. It is mostly known for its science and engineering courses and has around 8,000 students. It is located in Mumbai and is included in the 100 global top for chemical engineering, computer science, structural and civil engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, mechanics and design and art.
3. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD)
IIT Delhi was founded in 1961 as an engineering college and now is ranked as the 15th universities according to the BRICS ranking. The university is located in the Hauz Khas area, which is in the south of the New Delhi. It is in the top 100 for chemical engineering, computer science, structural and civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials sciences and art and design.
4. Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM)
IITM is founded in 1959 and is currently 19th on the BRICS ranking. Around 8,000 students attend classes in Chennai, which is the new name of Madras. Chennai is the largest economic, cultural and education center in South India. Its courses, which are in the top 100 on global ranking, are chemical engineering, structural and civil engineering, electronic and electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
5. Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK)
IITK was founded in 1959 and is now 22nd according to the BRICS rank. This university appears in the QS World Ranking and its electronic and electrical engineering is in the global top 100. Its computer science course and statistics course are in the top 150 in the world.
